The purpose of this study was to investigated the reliability and the validity of Anxiety Sensitivity Index in Adolescents. Participants included 415 higher education students, girls ( 215 ) and boys ( 200 ) selected from shiraz high schools to examine the reliability, validity, factor structure of the ASI via test – retest, internal consistency and principal component analysis methods. The participants included two groups of students with anxiety disorder and students with depressive disorder. All participants compelet both the Anxiety sensitivity index ( ASI ) and General Health Questionnaire ( GHQ ).The Cronbach’s coefficient Alpha, split – half reliability, Test – retest and internal consistency were calculated and the obtained coefficients showed that the reliability was quite good for the Iranian version of the scale. The scale’s construct validity was measured by factor analysis and this procedure yields 2 factors. These results provide evidence that the anxiety sensitivity construct is applicable during adolescence and support the use of the ASIC.
