To evaluate the effectiveness of this method in decreasing the symptoms of ADHD, the pre-test and post-test plan with control group design was performed. Teacher’s form of Child Symptom’s Inventory (CSI-4) completed for 326 girls 6-12 years old by their teachers.41 students were chosen from those who had a cutoff point higher than 8 and parent’s form of Child Symptom’s Inventory completed by their mothers and 25 students were chosen from those who had a cutoff point higher than 8 and then randomly divided into two groups, self monitoring strategy training and control group. The experimental group received self monitoring strategy training while the control group did not receive any intervention. Based on mother's reports, the results revealed that, for the self monitoring strategy training group, ADHD symptoms was reduced significantly. But with basis of teacher's reports difference was not significant. Therefore, self monitoring strategy training is a useful intervention for reducing ADHD symptoms in children.
