The Effectiveness of Educational Intervention "be yourself" on Negative Beliefs, Self-Acceptance, Self-Expression and Self-Esteem of 15-18-year-old adolescents with self-criticism

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of investigating the effectiveness of be yourself educational intervention on negative beliefs, self-acceptance, self-expression and self-esteem of teenagers with self-criticism. The research method was semi-experimental with pre-test, post-test and 45-day follow-up with a control group. The statistical population included all teenagers aged 15-18 with self-criticism in the spring of 2023; Therefore, according to the multi-stage random sampling method, teenagers with self-criticism who scored 154 or higher in the Thompson questionnaire (2004) and taking into account the criteria for entering and exiting the study, 40 subjects were selected and randomly divided into two groups. experimental and control (20 people in each group) were assigned. The experimental group received skin intervention training sessions (2018) during 12 60-minute sessions and the control group did not receive any intervention. . The results showed that be yourself educational intervention has a significant effect on negative beliefs, self-acceptance, self-expression and self-esteem of teenagers with self-criticism, and the effects of education remained in the follow-up phase (p = 0.001). Based on the obtained results, it can be concluded that the conscious mind acquired in be yourself intervention helps teenagers to reject disturbing thoughts and not stick to their own beliefs, and teenagers achieve this belief by aligning themselves with negative beliefs and thoughts resulting from them. Find out that there are beliefs that define who he really is. Therefore, it is suggested to use this intervention to reduce and improve the psychological problems of adolescents.
