The Effectiveness of training to cope with stress on Aggression in high school students

Abstract

Present research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of training to cope with stress on aggression in high school students in Qazvin. The research method was Quasi-Experimental. research statistical population was all girls students in Saadat high school of Qazvin in 2014 with 420 students ones selected in simple cluster method and randomly divided into two groups: experimental and control group. The tool used in this research was the Aggression Questionnaire Boss and Perry. The experimental intervention (McNamara`s stress coping skills training) were taught to the experimental group for 8 sessions, each lasting 90 minutes. The result of the covariance analysis showed that there were significant diffrences between the mean score of experimental group and control group in all aggression components. with regard to the training methods of coping with stress were effective on all components of aggression, to raise student function and to reduce problems caused by aggression, the need to provide appropriate condition for students as well as the availability of such training is felt.
