Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between attachment styles, self-differentiation, aducation and sexual function. The research method was descriptive-correlation. The statistical population consisted of all married female students in universities of Ahwaz. Through convenient sampling, 177 students of Ahwaz universities were selected. The instruments used in this study were women’s sexual function index Questionnaire, behavioral methods Questionnaire and self–differentiation Questionnaire. The data analysis were performed using correlation coefficient and regression analysis. Results showed a significant positive relationship between unsafe attachment style and sexual function, a significant negative relationship between safe attachment style and sexual function, a significant negative relationship between self-differentiation and sexual function and also a significant positive relationship between education and sexual function. Regression analysis results, using a step-by-step method, showed that predictive variables can predict the sexual function. These results indicated that attachment styles, self-differentiation and education have significant effects on sexual function. These findings confirmed the need to concentrate on relational and psychological factors in women’s experience of sex. Thus, attention to these variables in prevention, pathology, counseling, and treatment programs is necessary.
