Authors

Abstract

The purpose of current research was to investigate the relationship between positive and negative dimension of perfectionism with job burnout and the mediating role of unconditional self acceptance. This research was a descriptive correlation study. Population was based on male and female nurses in Tehran hospitals that 395 of them were selected through random clustering sampling and filled in Frost et al.'s perfectionism questionnaire, Chamberlain & Haaga's (2001) Unconditional self acceptance questionnaire, and Maslach & Jackson's job burnout questionnaire. In order to analyze the data, structural equations modeling, in Lisrel software was utilized. Fit indices of structural equation modeling, supported the model; in other words, the results showed that positive perfectionism has a direct relationship with Unconditional self acceptance while, negative perfectionism has a reverse relationship with Unconditional self acceptance Unconditional self acceptance. The results also showed that Unconditional self acceptance has a reverse relationship with dimensions of job burnout.
