The Effectiveness of Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) Strategies on self - Efficacy, Anexity and Achievement motivation among Boy Students

Abstract

The aim of this research was to investigate the effects of NLP training on the Self - efficacy, Anexity and achievement motivation of boys students.The pre- test and post-test design was used. Participants were 86 male students in Tabriz, who were selected in a clusteral random sampling. 43 students were in the experimental group and 43 students were in the control groups. Subjects in both groups answered to Sherer`s General self - Efficacy Scale (GSES) and the Beck Anexity Questionnaire and Hermans Achievement Motivation Questionnaire (HAMQ) as pre-test. Then, the Experimental group recived 13 weekly Sessions (40 minutes each). NLP strategies training were designed using subjects such as dealing with goal setting, time management, assertive skills, representational system and neurological level. Two weeks after the last training session subjects in both groups were post - tested by the same measures.Data were analyzed through ANCOVA analysis. The result showed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores. NLP strategies had positive and meaningful effect in increasing of self - efficacy and achievement motivation and decreasing of anexity for experimental group.
