The relationship between parental raring and social and non social behavior in preschool children\'s play

Abstract

The purpose of present study was the survey
of the relationship between parental raring and social and non social behavior
in preschool children`s play. The sample included 100 children aged from 3 to 6
from Shiraz
preschool centers that selected through random cluster sampling method. The
research instruments were the parental modernity inventory ( Schaefer &
Edgerton, 1985) and the preschool play behavior scale ( Coplan & Rabin,
1998). The results showed parents` progressive beliefs significantly
predicted reticent behavior, solitary-active behavior, social play and rough
play. Also parents` authoritarian beliefs significantly predicted children`s
reticent behavior. Also parents` rearing style significantly was different for girls and boys.
